Last Wednesday, at Matilha Cultural, probably the best alternative place in Sao Paulo, I discovered the music of the trumpeter Guilherme Mendonça aka Guizado. Playing his trumpet over homemade beats controlled by some machines, the vibe was very deep and raw, reminding me the Abstract HipHop scene in early 2000 or even the mood of some dj Krush productions.
I found more from him as soon as I went back home and get his two albums 'Calavera' (2010) and Punx' (2008). I spent the whole next day listening to this very urban mix of jazz, brazilian rhythms and electronic arragements.
Check 'Areias'

and 'Vendaval'
extract from 'Calavera' Cd

Of course this is only a very small part from his work and I really strongly recommend you to have a full listen of his albums to get a better and deeper idea of his work.
'Calavera' is available for free here.
